Job Description
Role Overview
The Communications Intern will focus on improving the department’s ability to track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across a diverse communications portfolio. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid data science background, experience with tools like PowerBI, and a strong interest in applying these technical skills to the marketing and communications function.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and refine PowerBI dashboards to track and visualize KPIs for social media performance, website analytics, and email campaigns.
Support the Communications team in setting up and optimizing workflows for real-time performance monitoring.
Conduct data analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improving communication strategies.
Assist in designing templates and frameworks for presenting analytics and performance insights to stakeholders.
Collaborate with the team to integrate business intelligence insights into communications planning and decision-making.
Document processes, systems, and workflows to ensure long-term sustainability.
Support internal quality control and review processes.
Compile comprehensive web and social media analytics reports.
Present and update PowerPoint slides for stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications and Requirements
Actively enrolled in or recently completed a university program in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related technical field.
A strong interest in leveraging data to enhance communications strategies and decision-making.
Technical proficiency in PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, and other data visualization or business intelligence tools.
Familiarity with social media analytics (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram), website analytics (Google Analytics), and email marketing software (e.g., ActiveCampaign) is highly advantageous.
Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis is a plus.
Self-starter with a collaborative mindset capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Integrity and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English.
