The African Development Bank (AfDB) is inviting applications for Session 2 of its 2026 Internship Program, specifically within the Investment job family. The program aims to provide students with professional and practical experience while creating a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment.
Program Objectives
Provide students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
Provide the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes.
Note: Applicants should not expect the internship to lead to immediate employment with the Bank.
Fields of Study
The Internship Program covers various job families including Agriculture, Human Capital, Engineering, Investment, Operations management & programming, Sustainability, Procurement, Delivery & Performance Monitoring, Risk Management, Finance, Capacity Development, Governance, Natural Resource and Knowledge Management, Economics, Statistics and Data Management, Human Resources Management, Information Management Technology, Real Estate Management and Services, Translation and Interpretation, Communication, Legal, and Corporate Governance & Advisory Functions.
Terms and Conditions
Duration: The internship lasts for a period of not less than three (3) months and not more than six (6) months. It is authorized only once for any candidate.
Working Mode: Internships may be conducted remotely or on-site depending on the hiring unit's needs. Remote interns must have a personal computer and reliable internet.
Stipend: Eligible interns will receive a monthly stipend.
Insurance: The Bank provides medical insurance coverage during the internship period.
Logistics: On-site interns are responsible for their own air travel and upkeep. The Bank will assist in obtaining entry and residence visas.
Requirements
Age: Must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of commencement.
Education: Currently enrolled in a Master's level degree program or have graduated within the last one (1) year from a recognized institution.
Nationality: Must be a national of a member country of the African Development Bank.
Languages: Proficiency in English or French is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
