The African Development Bank (AfDB) Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience in an international development environment. This specific internship is focused on the Finance Job Family, contributing to the Bank's mission of improving the quality of growth in Africa, promoting inclusive growth, and transitioning to green growth.
Objectives
Provide students with professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
Build a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment.
Note: The internship does not guarantee immediate employment with the Bank.
Responsibilities and Terms
Internships last between three (3) and six (6) months and are authorized only once per candidate.
Work may be conducted remotely or on-site based on the hiring unit's needs.
Remote interns must have their own computer and stable internet.
On-site interns are responsible for their own travel and living expenses; however, the Bank assists with visa processes.
Interns receive medical insurance coverage and a monthly stipend.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must be between 18 and 30 years old at the start of the internship.
Currently enrolled in a Master's level degree program at a recognized institution, or have graduated with a Master's degree within the last one (1) year.
Must be a national of an AfDB member country.
Fluency in at least one of the Bank's working languages: English or French.
Proficiency in standard software packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
