This is an entry-level position within the Building Inspectorate cadre. The officer will be deployed to various construction sites for on-the-job training under the supervision of a senior officer. The primary focus is the technical oversight of building projects to ensure compliance with architectural and engineering standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interpretation of Architectural and Engineering drawings to ensure projects follow approved designs.
Checking minor repairs and alterations of existing buildings to ensure safety and quality standards.
Monitoring construction activities on-site to verify adherence to approved plans and regulations.
Providing technical assistance and supervision for building projects under the guidance of senior staff.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must possess:
A Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering; OR
Construction Technician Part III certificate; OR
An equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Terms of Service
Salary Scale: Ksh. 28,900 - 37,100 per month (Job Group "H").
Benefits: Permanent and Pensionable.
