Job Description
The Human Resource Management Officer II within the Nakuru County Government will be responsible for a range of human resource administrative and operational duties. This includes the management of personnel records, support for recruitment processes, and administrative assistance to the Human Resource Management Advisory Committee. The role ensures that HR practices are compliant with county regulations and that staffing levels are accurately tracked.
Key Responsibilities
Information Verification: Verify all data and documentation relating to staff recruitment, appointments, and transfers.
Records Management: Maintain and update Human Resource Management records and manage complement control to ensure staffing levels are in line with approved structures.
Committee Support: Process cases for the Ministerial Human Resource Management Advisory Committee and ensure the subsequent implementation of committee decisions.
Staff Supervision: Provide guidance and supervision to clerical staff within the specific Division or Section to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (e.g., Government, Sociology, Economics), Public or Business Administration, Human Resource/Personnel Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Technical Skills: Must possess a certificate in computer application skills.
Professional Membership: Valid and active membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management of Kenya (IHRM-K) in good standing.
