Job Description
This position is part of a team of three responsible for recruitment of Mission positions and managing the classification process for position descriptions at the U.S. Embassy in Kenya. The role involves becoming an in-house expert on position classification, maintaining extensive knowledge of the local employment market, and developing strategic recruitment plans. The incumbent will serve as an internal consultant for selecting officials on recruitment standards, USEFM hiring preferences, and ensuring compliance with EEO and nepotism regulations.
Sourcing & Outreach: Drafting vacancy announcements, conducting outreach through social media, job fairs, and technical job sites, and maintaining relationships with educational and professional institutions.
Selection Process: Performing qualification analysis on applicant pools, administering language and skill testing, and coordinating the structured interview process.
Candidate Management: Informing candidates of Mission benefits and culture, drafting offer letters, and assisting in salary determinations.
Administrative Oversight: Maintaining HR information resource files (Official Personnel Folders), generating recurring reports and statistical data, and assisting in Mission staffing pattern updates.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Completion of two years of general college studies is required.
Experience: A minimum of three years of work experience in handling/managing recruitment and hiring, employee performance management, or closely related Human Resources experience.
Security: Ability to obtain and hold a security certificate or Public Trust security clearance.
