Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee and strengthen the organization’s human resources operations. This role is pivotal in an educational environment, focusing on recruitment, staff development, performance management, and school-specific scheduling to ensure smooth institutional operations. The successful candidate will support both administrative and academic teams, requiring a strong grasp of Kenyan labor laws and institutional logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Employee Records
Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the entire process from sourcing talent to successful onboarding.
Negotiation: Conduct professional salary negotiations with prospective candidates.
Compliance: Prepare legally compliant employment contracts and maintain meticulous employee records.
Documentation: Ensure all HR-related documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and securely maintained.
Payroll Coordination & HR Administration
Finance Liaison: Collaborate with the Finance Department to facilitate accurate and timely payroll processing.
Statutory Compliance: Maintain employee data and statutory records according to Kenyan regulatory requirements.
Admin Support: Execute HR administrative processes and generate necessary reports.
Performance Management & Staff Development
Growth Plans: Develop and monitor professional development initiatives for staff.
Metrics Tracking: Monitor employee performance metrics to support a culture of continuous improvement.
Culture Building: Foster an environment of accountability, professional growth, and high performance.
School Operations & Staff Scheduling
Leave Management: Coordinate annual and sick leave coverage to prevent operational gaps.
Academic Scheduling: Manage teacher schedules and academic rotations to ensure the school functions efficiently.
Resource Allocation: Support operational planning concerning staff availability and allocation.
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution
Mediation: Act as a neutral mediator in workplace disputes and employee relations matters.
HR Guidance: Provide expert advice to management and staff on HR-related issues.
Workplace Culture: Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative atmosphere.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 4–6 years of experience in human resources management.
Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in an educational institution or service-oriented environment is a significant advantage.
Legal Expertise: Strong understanding of Kenyan labor laws and HR compliance standards.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in drafting employment contracts and managing complex HR documentation.
