Role Overview
CITAM seeks to recruit a born-again Christian who is experienced and self-motivated to provide strategic and spiritual leadership to the Social Action (SAA) Unit. The Head of Programmes ensures alignment with the Vision & Mission of Christ Is The Answer Ministries while advancing Christ-centered community transformation. This position reports to the Director for Administration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Institutional Positioning
- Provide strategic direction and positioning of the SAA department within the broader ministry framework.
- Ensure full alignment of SAA programmes with the Church’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Integrate social action priorities into the overall ministry strategy to enhance impact and visibility.
Policy Development & Governance
- Develop and operationalize SAA policies, systems, and procedures that align with ministry objectives, donor compliance, best practices, and standards.
- Strengthen governance, risk management, and accountability frameworks.
Programmes Development & Implementation
- Lead the design and execution of faith-based community development and empowerment initiatives.
- Coordinate closely with assembly leadership to deliver Christ-centered and holistic social action programmes.
- Ensure programmes quality, effectiveness, and sustainability across all intervention areas.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with faith-based institutions, government agencies, and other community stakeholders.
- Build collaborative engagements with like-minded organizations to enhance delivery of programmes and expand outreach and impact.
Resource Mobilization & Donor Engagement
- Lead diverse donor engagement and funding initiatives.
- Develop strategic resource mobilization frameworks to ensure programmes sustainability and growth.
Financial Stewardship & Accountability
- Oversee programmes budgeting processes and ensure prudent stewardship of resources.
- Establish and enforce financial accountability systems consistent with ministry and donor requirements.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Establish robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems to track performance, outcomes, and long-term impact.
- Provide executive oversight of M&E functions to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Prepare high-level reports for donors, church leadership, and governance structures.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of the Social Action team.
- Foster a high-performance, values-driven culture rooted in servant leadership and excellence.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Community Development, Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- An MBA in a relevant field or Theological training will be an added advantage.
- At least eight (8) years of progressive experience in a comparable leadership role.
- Proven leadership capability with formal leadership training.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Experience working within a para-church or faith-based organization is highly desirable.
