As a GSM Engineer, you will perform maintenance and operations activities within the assigned Western region, ensuring the quality and continuity of the services as per the set KPIs, within the budgeted costs. You will execute and follow-up on network extensions and detect/warn about dysfunctions of network elements.
Primary Responsibilities
Corrective Maintenance: Attend to equipment faults logged in through the trouble ticket (TT) system in compliance with corrective maintenance KPIs.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure consistent equipment and environmental health checks. Accurately carry out the preventive maintenance program and generate reports.
Fault Coordination: Work in coordination with Support and NMC teams while analyzing fault incidents to ensure accurate, timely correction, and ensure clears are confirmed and communicated.
Network Improvements: Propose improvement actions of the network structure.
Commissioning: Jointly perform new site commissioning tests with equipment vendors and accept links/sites that qualify criteria set in engineering standards and equipment factory specifications.
Reporting: Compile and submit reports on all maintenance-related matters and attend daily meetings for evaluation.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Establish and show cause of link failures by filling in the reason for outage (RCA) forms.

Achieve 80% of TTs within SLA.
Ensure network quality with packet loss of <0.05%.

Academic & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication.
Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt.
CCNA Certification.
Valid Driving License.
Experience
2 years’ experience in transmissions network maintenance.
Competencies & Skills
Technical: Network Management Systems, Radio rigging, Knowledge of GSM 2/3G/4G architecture, Good understanding of BSS/transmission technology, Microsoft Office, and Troubleshooting.

Operating Environment
Office and field-based environment in remote locations with multiple interfaces across units.
