Reporting to the Director, Research and Extension, the Grants Officer will strengthen Egerton University’s capacity for resource mobilization, grants acquisition, and grants management by coordinating pre-award and post-award grant processes, ensuring donor compliance, supporting academic staff in proposal development, and contributing to the achievement of the University Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate pre-award and post-award grant processes.
Ensure donor compliance across various funding streams.
Support academic staff in proposal development and drafting.
Mobilize resources and assist in obtaining research and project grants.
Contribute to the achievement of the University's Strategic Plan.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Project Management, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Development Studies, or a related field.
At least three (3) years’ experience in grants management, research administration, or donor-funded project coordination in an international organization.
Demonstrated experience in proposal development and donor reporting in an international organization.
Familiarity with national and international research funders (NRF, EU, USAID, WorldBank, Foundations).
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
Salary Scale (Grant Officer Grade 12)
Kshs. 119,858.00 – Kshs. 184,523.00
