The Finance & IT Specialist role at Rose Avenue Group (Rose Avenue Consulting Group - RACG) involves a critical hybrid function, managing both the company's internal finance operations and overseeing its IT systems and infrastructure. The specialist will ensure accurate financial record-keeping, compliance, and provide strategic financial and IT advice both internally and to clients as part of the consulting projects undertaken by RACG. RACG is a financial management, strategy, and consulting firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions, ensuring audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support management decision-making and to advise clients on financial strategies.
- Manage revenue collection processes across business units, ensuring timely and accurate posting of transactions.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payroll processing, including statutory deductions.
- Support tax compliance processes, documentation, and assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Facilitate the submission, tracking, and reconciliation of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and audit readiness, providing expert advice on best practices for tax filings.
- Administer and support key operational systems, including QuickBooks for accounting, financial tracking, and reporting; eTIMS for tax invoicing; and Workpay for payroll management, ensuring they are used efficiently in line with industry best practices.
- Advise management on cost control, cash flow management, and profitability analysis across business units, with a focus on driving operational efficiency.
- Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective measures to optimize business operations.
- Provide timely financial reports, strategic insights, and advice to management, while actively engaging in consulting projects to improve financial operations across clients.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory frameworks, statutory filings, and external audits.
IT & Systems Management:
- Oversee the security and functionality of the company’s IT systems, while identifying and mitigating potential cybersecurity threats in a consulting capacity.
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company data and systems, advising on best practices for security protocols.
- Analyze system vulnerabilities, recommend mitigation strategies, and provide guidance on IT security frameworks to clients.
- Conduct periodic IT audits, vulnerability assessments, and generate cybersecurity reports to inform improvements.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security tools, frameworks, and hardening techniques.
- Advise on business continuity and disaster recovery planning, ensuring clients have a clear, actionable plan.
- Provide IT consulting to support system upgrades, technology integration, and deployment, offering expertise on infrastructure and security policies.
Cross-functional Support:
- Act as a liaison between the finance and IT functions, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement.
- Provide forensic data and insights for audits, investigations, and management reporting, advising on best practices and opportunities for improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (BCom, Finance, Accounting).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, with a strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Additional certifications or training in IT, cybersecurity, systems management, or consulting services are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax compliance, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, and data management is essential.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and MS Office; familiarity with ERP or financial management systems is a plus.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks, with the ability to offer consulting advice in both finance and IT domains.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, especially in consulting and advisory roles.
