Role Overview\ninABLE seeks to engage a Finance and Grants Management Consultant for three (3) months to strengthen financial and grants management systems (procedures, processes and policies), provide support for financial reporting on grants and ensure timely, accurate submission of all financial reports for the inABLE Programs.\n\nThis consultancy will strengthen and provide finance and grants management across all inABLE programs, including the Inclusive Africa Conference, ensuring consistent financial governance, donor compliance, timely reporting, and strengthened institutional financial systems organization-wide.\n\n### Scope of Work\n\n1. Assessment of internal systems\n* Conduct a comprehensive assessment of inABLE’s financial and grants management systems (procedures, processes, and practices).\n* Generate a systems analysis report and a roadmap for strengthening the systems.\n\n2. Strengthening of systems\n* Review existing finance manuals, policies, and procedures and align them with best practices.\n* Develop or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\n* Ensure finance policies support sub-granting, procurement, cash management, and audit readiness.\n\n3. Programmatic Support\n* Review existing program budgets to ensure donor compliance and cost-efficiency.\n* Prepare financial forecasts, expenditure tracking tools, and budget variance analyses.\n* Develop audit-ready financial and grants management processes and reporting.\n\n4. Grant Budget Development\n* Draft and review grant budgets and detailed budget narratives for funding proposals.\n* Provide financial input into grant proposal writing, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines.\n* Support fundraising and program teams on financial sustainability and cost structures.\n\n5. Financial Reporting\n* Prepare, review, and submit accurate and complete financial reports to partners and the inABLE Board.\n* Maintain a donor reporting calendar and track reporting deadlines.\n* Coordinate with program teams to ensure financial data aligns with narrative and performance reports.\n* Ensure all supporting documentation is complete, verifiable, and audit-ready.\n\n### Key Deliverables\n* A systems analysis report and roadmap for system improvement.\n* Reviewed and updated Financial Manuals and Policies (e.g., Finance, Grants, Travel, Procurement, Audit, etc.).\n* Standard Operating Procedures for financial and grants management.\n* Timely submitted financial reports and audit-ready documentation.\n* Capacity-building support provided to program staff.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).\n* Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in grant financial management and donor-funded programs.\n* Technical Skills: Experience with budgeting, donor reporting, audits, procurement, and sub-grant management.\n* Certification: Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or CFA) and registration with ICPAK.\n* Donor Compliance: Experience working with international donors such as USAID, Mastercard Foundation, DFID, or similar.\n* Competencies: Strong analytical, compliance, and risk-management skills.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply via the inABLE portal: https://www.myjobmag.co.ke/apply-now/1227416
