
Laikipia Wildlife Forum
The Laikipia Wildlife Forum (LWF) is a dynamic, membership-driven organization located 1.2km from Nanyuki town. It serves as a vital vehicle for the realization of goals and aspirations for smallholders, community groups, conservancies, and large landowners, focusing on integrated natural resources management. The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership to position LWF as the leading membership-based development and conservation organization in the Greater Laikipia landscape.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n#### Organizational Leadership\n* Lead the delivery of LWF’s Strategic Plan and position the organization as a leader in conservation.\n* Secure consistent and strategic programmatic relations with County governments within the landscape on issues such as community development, security, wildlife, water, rangelands, conservation education, tourism, and land use.\n\n#### Strategic Planning and Execution\n* Oversee the institutional operating budget.\n* Forge long-lasting partnerships with LWF’s implementing partners in the Upper Ewaso Ng'iro Basin.\n\n#### Fundraising and Partnerships\n* Lead fundraising efforts to attract new partnerships and financial support for members' initiatives and core operational costs.\n* Expand and diversify funding resources (international, regional, and local donors including multilateral organizations, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, corporates, and foundations).\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n* Advanced (Master’s and above) degree in Conservation, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science/Studies, Wildlife Management, Not-for-Profit Development, Organizational and/or Business Management, or a related field.\n* Proven leadership and strategic skills, and management experience including programme, project, and financial administration.\n* Demonstrated commitment to building governance and programming capacity among members.\n* Excellence in dealing with county, national, and international government representatives.\n* Proven success in securing and managing funds from diverse sources (grants, corporates, foundations, philanthropists).\n* Experience working with a Board of Directors and establishing multi-stakeholder relationships.\n* Commitment to Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM).\n* Familiarity with the Laikipia landscape, its partners, and key actors.\n* Ability to work with a diverse and cosmopolitan membership.\n\n### How to Apply\nApplicants should write to communications@laikipia.org with ‘Executive Director’ as the email subject.
