The Equipment Operator Foreman (Tier 2) leads a team of Equipment Operators while actively performing equipment operation duties as needed. The role involves allocating equipment and personnel based on project priorities, ensuring strict safety compliance, and coordinating equipment maintenance and repair.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Lead a team of Equipment Operators and perform work as an Equipment Operator as needed.
Allocate equipment and personnel based upon project priorities.
Communicate effectively with clients, project personnel, and team members.
Coordinate proper maintenance and repair of assigned equipment.
Ensure safe work practices and compliance with safety requirements at all times.
Complete all necessary administrative requirements and perform duties of subordinate personnel as required.
Operate light, medium, and heavy equipment, as well as light to heavy-duty trucks.
Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to project construction, operations, and maintenance activities.
May operate single axle dump trucks, dual axle dump trucks with automatic and manual transmissions, loaders, roller and compactors, tractors, sprayers, sweepers, plows, forklifts, backhoes, and related equipment.
Check equipment condition and report major mechanical issues; perform minor or emergency repairs if needed.
Train less-skilled workers in the operation and care of equipment.
Perform manual labor or other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four (4) to seven (7) years of related experience.
Other Job Requirements
Requires the job knowledge, skill level, and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate level to ensure compliance with safety, health, and security requirements in the contract.
Must be certified and able to operate required equipment.
