Role Overview
The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit five (5) Emergency Medical Technicians to provide critical pre-hospital care and support within the county's healthcare system. The successful candidates will be responsible for administering basic emergency medical services, ensuring the safety and stabilization of patients during transit, and maintaining the readiness of emergency response equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Emergency Care: Provide basic emergency medical care to patients at the scene of an accident or illness and during transport to medical facilities.
Patient Transportation: Assist in the safe and efficient transportation of patients, ensuring their stability and comfort.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain ambulance equipment and supplies to ensure they are in optimal working condition for emergency responses.
Data Management: Accurately record and document patient data, including medical history, treatments administered, and vital signs, in compliance with healthcare standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Must possess a Certificate or Diploma in Emergency Medical Technology, Pre-hospital Care, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certification: Must hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized institution or body.
Licensing: Possession of a valid practicing license from the relevant professional body (where applicable).
