This role is for an Electrical Specialist within Mars Snacking, focusing on the execution of electrical maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and optimal operational performance of plant equipment and facilities. The specialist supports continuous improvement initiatives through systematic preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, and strict adherence to electrical and control systems standards related to Quality and Food Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, plant diagnosis, and repair of electrical circuits including lighting, motor controls, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic components, and PLC systems.
- Ensure plant electrical reliability by following up on safety, food safety, and quality audits, and supervising contractors and suppliers.
- Participate actively in FMOS meetings to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Build capability within the team through coaching, training, and mentoring associates on electrical controls and maintenance best practices.
- Update skill matrices and contribute to the Education and Training pillar.
- Implement and review preventive and condition-based maintenance plans to minimize unplanned breakdowns and production disruptions.
- Support production associates in KAIZEN and PDCA implementation for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in electrical maintenance systems and industrial setups, coupled with strong troubleshooting and technical aptitude.
- Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or equivalent.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read, interpret, modify, and write PLC programs and electrical schematics.
- Experience repairing complex electrical circuits and performing maintenance on process equipment.
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts as required, with strong organizational skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Proficient in using standard electrical testing equipment such as voltage testers, multi-meters, and meggers.
