Job Description
Role Overview
The Due Diligence Senior Officer will be responsible for administering and operationalizing the UNOPS Due Diligence Policy. This involves conducting research and screening funding sources, assessing risks, and providing advisory services to stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Administration: Administer and operationalize the UNOPS Due Diligence Policy by conducting comprehensive research and screenings of prospective and existing funding sources in accordance with the UNOPS legal framework and internal policies.
Risk Assessment: Assess risks on the basis of screening outcomes in relation to the wider business context and potential business risk.
Reporting: Prepare, draft, and consolidate due diligence and screening reports, including concise executive summaries highlighting key risks and findings. Provide clear, risk-based recommendations to submitting units on proposed next steps and mitigation measures.
Advisory Services: Assist stakeholders in the interpretation of due diligence policies, particularly Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT).
Knowledge Management: Support the development of training materials, guidance notes, and workshop content. Act as a resource person providing subject-matter expertise during sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, International Relations, Finance, or related fields with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
OR a Master’s degree in any of the above or related fields with 2 years of relevant experience.
Certifications (Desired): Professional certifications like CAMS, CIA, or CFE.
Experience: Relevant professional experience in due diligence, preferably in an international setting.
