Driver / Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive firefighting apparatus to and from fires or other emergencies following laws and regulations, operating pumps, power, and other mechanical equipment.
• Clean and service assigned apparatus, maintaining it in a condition of readiness, and reporting mechanical failures or difficulties and missing or damaged equipment.
• Operate, without direct supervision, various Fire Department pumping apparatus with multiple water intake and discharge situations at an emergency scene.
• Perform required apparatus maintenance, cleaning duties, inventory checks, and weekly inspections.
• Document and report as required and directed by Program and Site leadership.

Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of previous experience, preferably at a US Military Installation (Air Force preferred) with similar mission/project in scope and nature.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• Valid country driver's license and passport.
• Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

Licensing/Certification Requirements

• Driver Operator — ARFF and Pumper
• Firefighter I and II
• Airport Firefighter
• HAZMAT Operations
• Telecommunicator I and II

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
• Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration.
