Job Description
Nyandarua Water and Sanitation Company Limited is looking for a qualified individual to fill the position of Driver III. This role involves the safe operation of company vehicles and ensuring that the logistical needs of the organization are met efficiently. The successful candidate will maintain vehicles in good condition, adhere to traffic laws, and prioritize the safety of passengers and cargo.
Responsibilities
Driving vehicle(s) as authorized for official company business.
Carrying out periodic checks on the assigned vehicle to determine maintenance needs and reporting them accordingly and on time.
Keeping up-to-date vehicle mileage logs and maintaining work tickets for assigned vehicles.
Ensuring the security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road.
Ensuring the safety of passengers and/or goods being transported.
Inspecting assigned vehicles and ensuring insurance documents are up-to-date.
Ensuring the assigned vehicle(s) has the necessary tools, including a toolbox, spotlight, umbrella, fire extinguisher, and a fully equipped first aid kit.
Ensuring that the vehicle is taken for service when due.
Adhering to the Traffic Act and the Authority’s policies and procedures regarding fleet management.
Ensuring that the assigned vehicle(s) is always fueled in line with organizational policies.
Reporting any incident that involves injury or damage to any passenger, pedestrian, or third-party property immediately.
Ensuring cleanliness of the assigned vehicle at all times and verifying that the vehicle is in good condition before use.
Requirements
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade D+ or its equivalent qualification.
Valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for the class(es) of vehicle(s).
At least two (2) years of proven driving experience.
Must be 45 years of age and below.
Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance, Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT), or any other recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
