Job Description
The National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) is seeking to recruit qualified individuals for the position of Driver III. The role involves the safe operation of the Authority's vehicles, ensuring the safety of passengers and goods, and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition through regular checks and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
Driving the motor vehicle as authorized for official Authority business.
Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle's cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, tire pressure, and other related checks.
Detecting and reporting any malfunctioning of the vehicle systems to the supervisor.
Maintaining accurate work tickets for the vehicles assigned.
Ensuring the security and safety of the vehicle both on and off the road.
Ensuring the safety of passengers and any goods being transported.
Maintaining the cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade D or its equivalent qualification.
Occupational Trade Test I/II/III for Drivers.
A valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for the class(es) of vehicle(s).
A First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
A valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
Experience of not less than three (3) years in a professional driving capacity.
Mandatory Compliance
Successful candidates will be required to fulfill the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, specifically obtaining clearance from:
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Certificate of Good Conduct)
Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
