AGL (Africa Global Logistics), the reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking a Disbursement Accountant to join their team in Mombasa. This role is focused on the meticulous analysis of disbursement files and ensuring accurate cost recovery from clients.
Role Overview
The Disbursement Accountant is responsible for analyzing accounting balances of files in disbursement control and ensuring that all costs incurred on behalf of clients are accurately tracked, recovered, and accounted for through analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze accounting balances of files in disbursement control and liaise with the COMs and/or the Financial Disbursement Controller for corrective action in case of under recovery or over recovery on disbursement.
Prepare necessary vouchers for reallocation of costs mixed in disbursement accounts to the correct control accounts upon approval by the ODC in liaison with Operations Supervisors.
Prepare and present weekly reports on the progress made for files analyzed with a view to classifying the files whose costs have correctly been recovered from the client.
Highlight 'Alive Files' in disbursement control and liaise with the COMs for archiving processes to be conducted on files aged over three months.
Notify the COMs of files that need prompt recovery of monies disbursed on behalf of the client.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma Certificate or Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
CPA Section II qualification.
At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
