Safal Group is seeking a Design Engineer to be responsible for designing steel framed structures using current structural design and analysis technologies. The role involves collaborating closely with the sales team to define job scopes for new and confirmed projects, specifying appropriate materials based on engineering codes, and overseeing the drafting process to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Main Purpose of the Position
Collaborate with the sales team for scope details of new enquiries and final details of confirmed jobs.
Design Steel Framed Structures for a diverse range of applications using the latest available technology in Structural Design and analysis.
Specify appropriate materials in the design process based on structural specifications and codes of practice.
Liaise with detailers in the preparation of drawings for internal and external use.
Key Performance Areas
Meet departmental KPIs such as material efficiency (Kg/m2), design efficiency (hrs/design, designs/day), and minimizing design errors.
Adhere to required design timelines to meet customer expectations.
Generate accurate bills of materials for pricing purposes.
Generate complete design calculations and analysis reports for all confirmed jobs.
Check details on drawings to ensure compliance with all design specifications.
Conduct random quality checks and inspections for jobs under fabrication when required.
Participate in coaching and training new recruits within the department for continuous improvement.
Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution.
2–3 years of working experience in Structural Designs and related projects.
Proficiency in Computer Aided Design Software, specifically AutoCAD, Prokon, Masterseries, and StaadPro.
Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
