Job Description
Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified Deputy Estates Officer (Grade E/F) to assist in the management and maintenance of University properties and facilities. This role is central to ensuring that the institution's physical infrastructure remains functional, safe, and compliant with relevant standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of facility management, ranging from routine maintenance to structural assessments.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage and coordinate the maintenance of properties and facilities within a large institutional setting.
Supervise technical teams involved in building repairs, structural works, and general estate upkeep.
Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to ISO certification standards and institutional policies.
Utilize technical drawing software such as AutoCAD or ArchiCAD for planning and documenting structural changes or repairs.
Monitor the condition of university buildings and recommend necessary interventions or upgrades.
Assist in the preparation of reports related to estate management and facility status.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, Quantity Survey, or Construction Management from a recognized Institution with three (3) years of experience in the maintenance of properties and facilities in a large institution.
OR Higher Diploma in the field of study stated above with a minimum of five (5) years working experience in the maintenance of properties and facilities in a large institution.
KCSE C Plain and above.
Conversant with ISO Certification.
Proficiency in AutoCAD / ArchiCAD will be an added advantage.
Remuneration
