Zetech University is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Dean - School of Business & Economics. The position-holder will primarily be employed as a teaching staff member on permanent and pensionable terms, while holding the Dean of School position on a three-year renewable contract. Reporting to the DVC-Academics, Research and Student Affairs, the Dean is responsible for the overall academic leadership and administrative management of the school.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the School.
Academic Quality: Oversee teaching and evaluation, ensuring timely, up-to-standard, and comprehensive course coverage and integrity of examinations.
Operational Oversight: Monitor class attendance by students and staff.
Resource Management: Plan for and manage human and physical resources optimally.
Sustainability: Ensure the school's sustainability through student retention, cohort completion, progression rates, and population growth.
Research and Innovation: Lead and inspire research, innovation, and grant/proposal writing efforts.
Industry Partnerships: Establish and manage industry collaborations, partnerships, and linkages.
Internationalization: Drive internationalization efforts, including program offerings, student nationality mix, and exchange programs.
Student and Staff Relations: Lead customer service efforts and timely resolution of concerns from students and staff.
Performance Management: Manage staff performance, work attendance, leave, and discipline.
Program Development: Oversee the development and review of market-reflective programs.
Policy Compliance: Implement University policies and strategies to improve graduate employability.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of a relevant PhD, Masters, and Bachelor's degree in Business from an accredited and recognized University.
At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
Evidence of publications as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
Demonstrable leadership and administrative experience (e.g., Head or Chair of Department, program leader, postgraduate coordinator).
Successful supervision of at least two (2) postgraduate students to completion.
Proven ability to attract research funds as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
Evidence of contributing to academic conferences, seminars, or workshops.
Contribution to University life through active participation in departmental/school matters and committee memberships.
Membership in a relevant professional body.
