The Exports Co-ordinator role at L'Oréal is a key link within the Operations team, ensuring products move seamlessly across borders to valued customers. This role involves orchestrating the entire export journey from order placement through to delivery with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Export Order Management: Managing export orders and liaising directly with customers to ensure all requirements are met.
- Documentation Management: Preparing, reviewing, and organizing all necessary export paperwork. This includes commercial invoices, Bills of Lading, packing lists, certificates of origin, and specialized documents like SADC and COMESA.
- Logistics Coordination: Scheduling shipments with freight forwarders and carriers (ocean, air, or road), negotiating shipping rates, and booking cargo space to ensure timely delivery.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all shipments adhere to international trade laws, customs regulations, and country-specific requirements. This includes accurate HS Classification and adherence to Incoterms.
- Shipment Tracking & Visibility: Monitoring shipments in real-time and providing regular status updates to internal departments and customers.
- Financial Control: Tracking and reporting on costs, verifying vendor invoices for payment, and identifying opportunities for cost savings within the supply chain.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as a central point of contact for external partners (customs brokers, shipping lines) and internal teams (warehouse, sales, finance) to maintain operational flow.
- Demand Planning: Forecasting and demand planning for export volumes in collaboration with commercial and operations teams.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
L’Oréal is seeking a strategic thinker with a solid understanding of supply chain principles and export procedures. Candidates should thrive in this role if they possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
- ERP Knowledge (SAP is an added advantage).
- Strong ability to plan, execute, and oversee the entire export cycle for multiple orders.
- Excellent ability in building and maintaining relationships with export clients and partners.
- Proficiency in tracking key performance indicators and providing insights on export activities.
- Ability to foresee and proactively solve problems in a proactive and collaborative manner.
- Ability to adapt to changing regulations and navigate logistical challenges effectively.
