Role Overview: Credit Officer (Job Objective/Purpose)

The primary objective of the Credit Officer is the timely submission of invoices to payors. This role is crucial for ensuring revenue cycle integrity by meticulous handling of documentation, verification, and reconciliation processes across Avenue Healthcare's facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Document Collection and Receiving: Collecting, receiving invoices, claim forms, and any other required documentation for effective dispatch to payors from the respective branches and hospitals.
2. Reconciliation: Reconciling invoices received against the billings in the hospital information system. This includes reporting any variances and following up with the relevant facilities for the submission of missing documents.
3. Verification and Vetting: Verifying the accuracy of invoice data, ensuring compliance with company policies and client agreements through a thorough vetting process. This guarantees that documentation is duly filled and is of high quality for dispatch.
4. Processing and Batching (Invoice Banking): Performing Invoice Banking, which involves batching of vetted invoices in the system.
5. Dispatch: Delivering the batched invoices, claim documents, and Delivery Notes to the Payors.
6. Record Keeping: Maintaining an accurate record and archiving the acknowledged delivery notes. Retrieving the acknowledged delivery notes upon request.
7. Collaboration and Audits: Collaborating with other departments to resolve discrepancies and assisting in internal and external audits.
8. Reporting: Supporting the team in month-end closing processes and reporting.
9. Client Communication: Responding to inquiries from clients regarding invoice status and payments.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in a Business-related field.
• Must possess CPA 1 certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a credit control or financial role.
