Mwingi was incorporated in 2019 and is establishing a unique last-mile franchise chain in Kenya. By this, Mwingi empowers local entrepreneurs and increases the availability of affordable quality products for thousands of families in rural areas. The company is currently seeking a Credit Controller to support its financial operations in Nairobi.
Role Overview
As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the debts of the organization. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the company receives payments on time, assessing credit risk, and maintaining a healthy cash flow to support the company's expansion in the rural retail sector.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the sales ledger and ensuring timely collections of outstanding debts.
Evaluating the creditworthiness of potential franchise partners and customers.
Establishing and maintaining credit limits for various accounts.
Following up on overdue payments via phone, email, and in-person visits where necessary.
Resolving billing and payment disputes promptly.
Preparing regular reports on the status of the aged debt and collection performance.
Requirements
Education: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (BA/BSc/HND) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in credit management or a similar financial role is preferred.
Professionalism: Strong negotiation and communication skills to maintain professional relationships while ensuring debt recovery.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and assess risk effectively.
