Role Overview
This position is responsible for driving sales within the sector/unit within Islamic Banking through quality credit origination, analysis, customer management and portfolio monitoring in collaboration with Departmental Heads and Relationship Managers. Through interactions with customers, and as a key member of the team, the role provides feedback on customer needs and industry trends to align corporate strategy with changing dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit Application & Analysis: Preparing quality credit applications and conducting financial analysis of corporate customers using credit skills, ratio analysis, and judgment of management and business strategy.
- Security Verification: Verifying that provided securities meet standards and are forwarded for approval in line with the credit policy.
- Risk Management: Evaluating and understanding risks associated with individual transactions, products, and borrowers.
- Client Engagement: Meeting Amanah clients to achieve a clear understanding of their business with a focus on risk analysis.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Assisting Relationship Managers (RM) in monitoring credit quality and highlighting early warning signs of credit deterioration.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with Bank policies and ensuring that policy breaches are properly authorized at the correct senior level. Ensuring KYC and AML compliance for all borrowing customers.
- Customer Service: Facilitating business relationships through exceptional customer service, including active engagement from onboarding to managing customer retention.
- Operational Support: Acting as back-up to the RM and assisting in query resolution within anticipated turnaround times. Effectively converting service recovery to sales opportunities and sustaining client loyalty.
- Market Intelligence: Gathering competitive intelligence on competitor offerings and tracking market trends to provide advice on potential business threats and opportunities.
- Recovery and Collections: Identifying early warning signals for non-performing accounts and escalating to collections teams when necessary.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors’ Degree from a recognized University.
- Master’s degree in a Business-related field is an added advantage.
- 5-6 years of Commercial Banking experience, with at least 3 years specifically in credit analysis.
- Strong knowledge of the local Islamic banking market, trends, and future direction.
