As the County Chief Officer for Economic Planning, the successful candidate will serve as the authorized officer and accounting officer for the department, reporting directly to the respective County Executive Committee Member. The role involves high-level administrative oversight and strategic implementation of programs designed to achieve Kenya's Vision 2030 and local sector-specific development goals.
Responsibilities
Provide general administration and leadership for the county department.
Formulate and implement programs and policies aimed at attaining Vision 2030 and other sector-wide goals.
Oversee the development and execution of strategic and sector development plans.
Ensure departmental compliance with national regulations and policies.
Provide strategic policy direction to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the public.
Uphold and ensure compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and Public Service as mandated by the Constitution of Kenya (Articles 10 and 232).
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the County Executive Committee Member.
Requirements for Appointment
Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Kenya. A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
At least 10 years of professional experience in a relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or managerial position within a large organization.
Must be registered with a relevant professional body, where applicable.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of county development objectives and the Vision 2030 framework.
Must be a strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Capacity to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic environment with respect for diversity.
Deep commitment to the National Values and Principles of Governance.
Proficiency in computer applications.
