The Co-operative Bank of Kenya is seeking a Corporate Dealer to manage and grow relationships with corporate clients. The successful jobholder will be responsible for understanding clients' financial objectives, risk tolerance, and treasury requirements. You will collaborate with clients to assess their exposure to foreign exchange risk, interest rate risk, and other market uncertainties, providing expert advice and customized solutions to help them achieve their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management: Develop and nurture strong relationships with corporate clients to understand their financial objectives and treasury requirements.
Risk Advisory: Collaborate with clients to assess exposure to foreign exchange risk, interest rate risk, and other market uncertainties; provide customized hedging solutions.
Transaction Execution: Execute foreign exchange transactions (spot, forward, and options contracts) to help clients manage currency risk associated with international trade and investment.
Market Monitoring: Monitor global financial markets, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments to provide clients with relevant market insights.
Treasury Optimization: Analyze market trends and currency movements to identify opportunities for clients to optimize their treasury management strategies.
Reporting: Prepare and deliver presentations or reports on market outlook and potential implications for clients.
Product Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of financial instruments including FX, interest rate derivatives, money market instruments, and structured products.
Compliance & Risk Management: Assess and manage risks associated with client transactions, ensuring alignment with risk management policies and regulatory guidelines. Maintain high adherence to the FX Global Code.
Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the trading desk, risk management, compliance, operations, and branch network for seamless execution. Liaise with the Corporate and Institutional Banking Division to identify cross-selling opportunities.
Skills, Competencies, and Experience
A minimum of 4 years proven experience in corporate relationship management, foreign exchange, or related financial roles.
A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
ACI Dealing Certification is mandatory.
Strong understanding of macroeconomics and current economic trends.
Knowledge of risk management covering operational, market, and credit risk.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.
Confident decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong analytical prowess and leadership acumen.
Extensive experience and expertise in derivative products.
