Role Overview\nAs an Analyst at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Nairobi, you will work under the guidance of an operation leader or a more senior banker. The role involves contributing to all aspects of project structuring, execution, and portfolio monitoring to support the bank's investment mission of promoting sustainable, entrepreneurial economies.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n#### Structuring and Execution\n* Work as a project team member on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution.\n* Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data.\n* Analyse and evaluate potential risks related to the proposed project, including financial statement analysis and updating financial models and projections.\n* Assist with designing and processing technical co-operation assistance, including preparation of terms of reference and internal approval documentation.\n* Assist with communication with internal Bank units, clients, and other stakeholders, including drafting correspondence and presentations.\n* Ensure all assigned tasks are completed within specified time frames and align with Bank policies and objectives.\n\n#### Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting\n* Undertake assigned tasks relating to the implementation and monitoring of projects, including compliance with project agreements and disbursement procedures.\n* Monitor the progress of projects and the financial performance of clients, assessing evolving risk factors and covenant compliance.\n* Prepare timely and comprehensive draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions where required.\n\n### Qualifications and Skills\n* Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is preferred.\n* Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable.\n* Critical quantitative and numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models.\n* Strong credit analysis skills with an understanding of local and international accounting principles.\n* Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spreadsheet packages (financial analysis and modelling modules).\n* Good written and oral communication skills in English; a good command of the local/country language is an advantage.\n* Ability to work effectively as a team member under time pressure and meet strict deadlines.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the EBRD careers portal.
