The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the commercial function, including the formulation, periodic review, and implementation of the strategy for service delivery and revenue generation, ensuring effective implementation. The position ensures effective billing and delivery of services to all customers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop long-term business strategies and operating plans for the department in line with the Strategic Plan and Business Plan.
Ensure provision of timely and high-quality client services that meet or exceed expectations.
Develop and implement systems for positive customer relations management.
Manage and supervise commercial aspects of the Company’s operations, particularly as they relate to revenue generation.
Promote new ideas and business solutions that result in extended service to existing and new clients.
Ensure the provision of comprehensive commercial information systems, including an up-to-date customer database, to achieve overall Company revenue objectives.
Ensure timely, complete, and accurate meter reading, billing of services, and subsequent collection.
Carry out customer surveys and devise strategies to address and improve on matters arising from feedback received.
Develop departmental policies, procedures, actions/work plans, and budgets in line with overall company strategic objectives.
Oversee and implement performance management within the department.
Prepare and submit board and management papers for approval, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the department.
Identify training needs for departmental staff.
Mentor and coach department staff.
Identify procurement needs of the department.
Take responsibility for physical assets assigned to the department by the company.
Perform any other related duties as delegated by the Managing Director.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, CPA (K), or any other relevant degree from a recognized institution.
Member of a professional body in good standing.
At least 7 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or supervisory position. Experience in the water sector will be an added advantage.
Master’s degree in a business-related field will be an added advantage.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in ICT with strong MS office and internet use.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Good analytical skills.
