Job Description
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is seeking to recruit Clerks (Polling/ Tallying/ Queuing/ Charging) to assist in the electoral process. Reporting to the Returning Officer/Presiding Officer as appropriate, the Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and credible electoral process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in laying out of the polling station and counting room.
Demarcate and display posters at the polling station.
Control queues and guide voters to respective polling station.
Ensure that KIEMS kits are fully charged and ready for use.
Confirm that a voter has not voted by inspecting their fingers for indelible marks.
Identify voters before allowing them to vote.
Issue stamped ballot papers to voters duly identified in the register of voters.
Assist the Presiding Officer with the sorting of votes after voting as part of counting.
Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the Returning Officer/Presiding officer.
Job Requirements
Kenyan citizen of high integrity, and be non-partisan.
KCSE Aggregate C- and above.
Must be of good character.
Must be available for the entire period of the exercise.
Resident of the Constituency/County Assembly Ward in which they apply for.
