Chief Manager Technical Services

Trans Nzoia County Water & Sanitation Company Ltd is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Chief Manager Technical Services. The position provides strategic and technical leadership in the Technical Services Department to ensure the provision of high-quality water and sanitation services to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing strategic and technical leadership in the Technical Services Department to ensure provision of high-quality services to customers.
• Steering the development of departmental policies, procedures and actions plans in line with the Company mission and objectives.
• Overseeing sourcing, production, treatment and distribution of water.
• Overseeing proper treatment and disposal of wastewater.
• Overseeing maintenance of the water infrastructure.
• Coordinating monitoring water levels in all the company’s storage reservoirs on daily basis.
• Overseeing accurate preparation of water production and supply statistics.
• Overseeing preparation of comprehensive departmental reports, procurement plans and budgets, to Managing Director to facilitate decision-making.
• Ensuring that water and sewerage infrastructure is operated and maintained to the required standards.
• Providing technical expertise and advice on the acquisition of contractors and consultants for major works.
• Implementation of the Strategic Plan, work plan and performance targets.
• Optimal utilization and supervision of staff within the Division.
• Providing overall supervision of major works.
• Management of Non-Revenue Water.
• Enhancing research and innovation.
• Overseeing the planning and coordination of quality, maintenance and engineering (capacity works) related issues.

Person Specification

• Master’s degree in engineering (Civil/Water) from a recognized Institution.
• Bachelor’s Degree (Civil/Water) from a recognized Institution.
• Twelve (12) years’ cumulative relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have been in a management position.
• Certificate of Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution.
• Must be registered with Engineers Board of Kenya.
• Member of Institute of Engineers Kenya.
• Valid practicing license.
• Certificate in Computer Applications.
