Role Overview
The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is seeking to fill three (3) positions for Chief Clerical Officer. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive general clerical services across various directorates and departments. The officer ensures the integrity of statistical records, manages information flow, and maintains high standards of records management to support the Authority’s mandate in providing civilian oversight over the police.
Key Responsibilities
Data Coordination: Coordinate the compilation and verification of statistical records to ensure accuracy across assigned areas.
Information Processing: Oversee the processing of data and information relevant to the department or directorate of deployment.
Records Management: Maintain an efficient filing system and ensure the safe custody of files, materials, and other official records.
Report Preparation: Coordinate the consolidation of data and information to facilitate the compilation of management reports.
Administrative Support: Draft routine correspondences and implement risk mitigation measures within clerical processes.
Staff Supervision: Coach, mentor, and supervise junior clerical staff, including developing and monitoring their individual work plans.
Job Requirements
Experience: A cumulative service period of nine (9) years, with at least three (3) years served at the grade of Senior Clerical Officer (IPOA 10) or a comparable and relevant position.
Education: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of C- (Minus) or its equivalent qualification.
Professional: Must have passed the proficiency examination for Clerical Officers.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications is essential.
Merit: Proven merit and ability as reflected in past work performance and results.
