The CCTV Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating the hospital’s surveillance systems to ensure safety, security, and order within the facility. The role supports patient-centered care by detecting, preventing, and reporting security and safety incidents in compliance with hospital policies and Kenyan legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor live CCTV feeds and review recorded footage to detect suspicious activities, safety risks, or security breaches.
System Maintenance: Ensure continuous operation of CCTV systems and promptly report faults or malfunctions.
Privacy & Dignity: Observe movements within the facility while maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
Incident Management: Record and report incidents accurately in line with hospital procedures; retrieve and preserve CCTV footage for authorized investigations.
Collaboration: Work with security personnel, clinical teams, and management during incidents or emergencies.
Area Control: Monitor restricted and high-risk areas including wards, pharmacies, stores, and entry/exit points.
Reporting: Maintain updated monitoring logs and incident reports.
Safety & Compliance: Escalate emergencies such as theft, fire, violence, or patient safety risks; ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act (Kenya).

Qualifications and Experience
Academic: Diploma in Criminology, Security Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
Professional: CCTV operation or surveillance training is an added advantage.
Experience: At least 1–2 years’ experience in CCTV monitoring or security operations. Experience in a hospital, healthcare setting, or faith-based organization is highly desirable.
