Role Overview
TEXEM (These Executive Minds) is a UK-based consulting firm specializing in executive development, consulting, and recruitment. We are seeking a highly motivated, commercially astute, and strategically minded Business Development Executive to join our Nairobi operations. The successful candidate will play a central role in engaging senior executives across various sectors, including financial services, real estate, energy, FMCG, and government institutions.
A primary responsibility is to promote premium executive development programmes taking place in Kenya and the UK. These programmes are designed for senior leaders and board-level participants, delivering measurable leadership impact, strategic judgement, and stronger governance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Client Engagement
- Develop and implement tailored engagement strategies to build trusted relationships with CEOs, Executive Directors, Board Members, and senior management teams.
- Promote executive development programmes (scheduled for June, July, August, and November) as high-value opportunities for leadership and organizational growth.
- Communicate the strategic value of programs in addressing growth pressures, regulatory complexity, and Kenya-specific economic challenges.
- Position programmes as enablers of institutional performance and long-term value creation.
Sales and Revenue Generation
- Exceed revenue targets by converting qualified leads into programme registrations and organizational partnerships.
- Develop persuasive business cases demonstrating ROI, executive testimonials, and clear strategic outcomes.
- Deliver high-quality presentations and proposals to secure executive participation.
Market Intelligence and Networking
- Stay informed on market dynamics, including macroeconomic conditions and sector regulations (e.g., CBK, CMA, and SASRA expectations).
- Actively participate in executive forums, industry events, and professional networks to expand market access.
- Manage a strong sales pipeline through consistent relationship management.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Work with UK-based academic and faculty teams to align programme positioning with client needs.
- Provide structured daily and weekly reports on engagement activity and market intelligence.
Thought Leadership
- Represent the organization by sharing research-driven perspectives with senior audiences.
- Lead strategic conversations to position the firm as a long-term partner in leadership development.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
- An MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in business development, senior sales, or client engagement within professional services, banking, insurance, consulting, or executive education.
- A strong record of engaging senior executives and securing high-value opportunities.
