The Branch Manager at the Riverside Branch is responsible for coordinating with the Head of Branches to implement bank policies and procedures regarding overall branch operations. The role entails driving business development within the branch market to meet or exceed targets, while also managing staff development, coaching, and ensuring adherence to compliance and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Strategic Input and Planning
Contribute to the Sidian Bank Retail Operational plan by preparing and implementing a branch-level business plan.
Provide clear direction based on market analysis of local consumer trends and competitor offerings.
Prepare and manage the branch budget, monitoring expenditure and reporting on performance variations.
Formulate strategic initiatives to increase new business and share of wallet from existing clients.
Business Growth & Development
Take full responsibility for all product lines and sales/business development for the branch.
Grow the Branch’s Business portfolio (Assets and Liabilities) while ensuring income and portfolio quality targets are met.
Recruit new clients, increase transactional income, and handle cross-selling of products.
Develop relationship management systems to increase deposit, lending, and revenue flow.
Ensure compliance with the Bank’s Credit Policy, Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) guidelines, and the Banking Act.
Marketing & Brand Management
Embed strategic marketing to develop competitive advantage.
Build the Sidian Bank brand as a top-of-mind enterprise bank.
Support product specialists and sales teams in local marketing initiatives.
Relationship Management & Customer Experience
Enhance customer experience and advocacy to drive competitive advantage.
Achieve set customer satisfaction (CSAT) and Net Promoter (NPS) scores.
Handle branch-level complaint resolutions and gather customer feedback for service improvements.
Branch Operations
Ensure the branch operates within CBK required hours and follows security procedures (opening/closing, surveillance, robbery/fire drills).
Manage cash levels and ensure staff are trained in KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering).
Maintain branch infrastructure and monitor business performance accuracy.
Leadership & People Management
Manage human resources for the branch, including performance setting, appraisals, and career path development.
Conduct regular staff meetings (huddles) and identify training opportunities.
Ensure a conducive work environment through adherence to dress code and HR policies.
Risk & Compliance
Oversee all risk and compliance activities, ensuring closures of audit deficiencies.
Screen all customers adequately under AML/CFT/CPF guidelines and report suspicious activities to the MLRO.
Ensure that UBO (Ultimate Beneficial Ownership) information is captured and verified during onboarding.
Requirements
University degree in a relevant business discipline (e.g., Business Administration or Finance).
A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Minimum 8 years’ working experience in a Banking environment.
Sound exposure to Branch Operations, Credit Management, and Business Development.
At least 4 years of experience in a management role.
Diploma in Banking – AKIB (added advantage).
