Role Overview
As a Bars Manager, you will be responsible for raising the standards of bars across the group while delivering a memorable guest experience, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and profitability. You will possess a special mix of skills – experience behind the bar, the ability to keep staff and customers cheerful, creating an energetic atmosphere both behind the bars and for guests, and also be creative and innovative in promotions and cocktails. You will oversee daily operations, manage resources, and handle the bar personnel, while ensuring high profits and highly satisfied clientele by creating a unique and pleasant ambiance for the bars, and ensuring everyone’s safety, comfort, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Raising the standards of and driving demand/footfalls for the bars across the group.
Overseeing the beverage running of the hotel bars from purchasing to selling.
Administering appropriate stocking and control measures and updating the team on any substitute and menu changes.
Training staff on beverage knowledge and contemporary standards for improvement.
Ensuring all bars are well stocked and with adequate fresh produce for garnishes.
Carrying out weekly/monthly marketing campaigns and promotions for beverages.
Monthly and quarterly menu review and/or engineering analysis.
Bar audits and inspections to ensure HACCP procedures are followed.
Fostering positive business relationships with suppliers, clients, and associates.
Reviewing products on offer and brand development for promotions.
Pricing reviews and updates, while identifying and setting par levels based on sales and demand trends.
Introducing key beverage liaisons and using them to advocate change in beverage culture.
Organizing annual workshops for improvement of the beverage program.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Bars Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Knowledge of bartending and bar management best practices and industry trends.
Excellent problem-solving, conflict management, and decision-making abilities.
Outstanding customer service and organization skills.
Knowledge of budgets and report generation.
Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and inventory management.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
