The role of the Autocad Designer involves developing precise technical drawings and specifications for various construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring all designs adhere to project requirements, industry standards, and regulations, while working closely with engineers and architects. A key component of this role is delivering accurate designs and quotations within strict deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare detailed Auto CAD, Archi CAD drawings and specifications for projects, ensuring all designs meet project requirements and specifications.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather and clarify design requirements and specifications.
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from team members and clients, ensuring timely updates and adjustments.
- Identify design challenges and propose effective engineering solutions.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Contribute to design improvements and innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure that the proposals for the clients meet the agreed turnaround time of 24 hours for roof cover, gutters & ceiling boards Bills of Quantities (BQs) and 48 hours for Light gauge steel BQs.
- Support the Project’s Supervisor in carrying out site inspection and measurements.
- Peer review light gauge steel structures design.
- Prepare light gauge steel and other BDL product quotations.
- Represent the Company in technical site meetings with clients and consultants on a need basis.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or any other related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of prior work experience in technical drafting and construction design.
- Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge with Auto CAD, Archi CAD, or any other design software.
- Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Ability to take site measurements.
- Ability to undertake structural designs.
- Knowledge with FRAMECAD will be an an added advantage.
