Role Overview
The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) is seeking to recruit Assistant Fitness Officer III (2 posts). This role entails providing professional spa and fitness services, managing center schedules, and ensuring the health and safety of guests in the Spa and Fitness Center.
Responsibilities
Administrative Management: Book appointments, manage the spa schedule, and maintain accurate records of client treatments and services provided.
Service Delivery: Perform spa treatments to a high standard, ensuring individual and unique service delivery for all guests.
Guest Environment: Create a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment for all fitness center guests.
Documentation and Supplies: Provide proper documentation to the Fitness Centre Supervisor and manage levels of professional stock and supplies.
Policy Adherence: Refer to and abide by the spa's standard operational procedures, policies, and manuals.
Consultation: Conduct guest consultations, including reviewing basic medical histories to recommend appropriate spa treatments or services.
Hygiene and Trends: Uphold strict hygiene standards, follow health and safety regulations, and stay updated on new spa treatments, trends, and techniques.
Fitness and Nutrition: Advise guests on diet, develop bespoke personal training plans, and provide vital encouragement.
Equipment Monitoring: Demonstrate the correct use of exercise equipment and monitor its use to ensure safety.
Facility Maintenance: Ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety in the gym and swimming pool areas.
Classes and Workshops: Conduct exercise classes, workshops, and individual diet plans.
Qualifications and Requirements
A Diploma in Beauty and Massage Therapy or Sports Science from a recognized institution.
Certificate in Aromatherapy from a recognized institution.
Certificate in First Aid and CPR from St. John Ambulance or a recognized body.
At least two years’ experience in wellness and fitness.
Proficiency in computer applications.
