The County Government of Bungoma is inviting applications for the position of Assistant ECDE Teacher V. This role is crucial in providing high-quality early childhood education to learners within the county, fostering their holistic growth and ensuring they are well-prepared for primary education.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Assessment: Delivering age-appropriate lessons and conducting regular assessments of learners to monitor progress.
Learning Activities: Organizing and facilitating play and learning activities that foster children’s exploration, creativity, self-expression, and discovery.
Holistic Nurturing: Caring for and nurturing the spiritual, moral, social, mental, and physical growth of children while developing their appreciation of culture and the environment.
Records Management: Maintaining and managing ECDE center records, ensuring children’s safety and security.
Community Engagement: Mobilizing the community on matters related to Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE).
Resource Development: Preparing and developing play/learning materials and maintaining professional records such as schemes of work, lesson plans, and daily programmes of activities.
Requirements for Appointment
Minimum grade of D+ in the Kenya Secondary Certificate of Education (KCSE) or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized examining body.
A Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education offered by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Possession of a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
