The Water Resources Authority (WRA) is seeking to recruit Assistant Accountants/ Revenue Officers III. This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An Officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. This cadre is responsible for the prudent management of financial resources in WRA in line with the existing legal financial framework.
Duties and Responsibilities
Initiating collection of revenue from various sources.
Initiating compilation of data on payments made by WRA to various payees.
Compiling data to compute assets depreciation and verifying balances on each account.
Compiling documents and preparing them for approval of payment, allocation of funds for the payments, and effecting the payments.
Documenting and dispatching cheques and payment documents.
Keeping custody of all accounting documents and filing documents.
Compiling documents and information to be used for monthly reconciliations.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:
Diploma in Accounting or Part I or II of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or its equivalent.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months, thereafter converting to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
