Artisan (Fence Technician)

Maseno University is seeking a qualified Artisan (Fence Technician) for its operations. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various fencing structures within the university premises. The position is intended for individuals with technical skills in fencing and construction to help maintain security and boundary integrity.\n\n### Terms of Service\nThe appointment for this position is on a Fixed Term Contract basis, which is non-renewable, for a maximum period of Six (6) months.\n\n### Responsibilities and Duties\n- Install new fencing structures including wire, wood, or metal fences as required.\n- Conduct regular inspections of existing fences to identify signs of wear, damage, or security breaches.\n- Perform necessary repairs on broken or damaged fence components.\n- Safely operate manual and power tools required for technical construction and maintenance.\n- Ensure the work site is maintained in a clean and safe condition during and after projects.\n- Follow technical instructions and alignment specifications for fence installation.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n- Relevant artisan or technical qualification in a related field.\n- Possession of all necessary academic and professional certifications.\n- Valid academic transcripts (where applicable).\n- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual technical work outdoors.\n- Ability to commit to a 6-month fixed-term contract.
