Mumberes Farmers Cooperative Society has been empowering farmers and engineering quality dairy for over four decades. We are seeking a dedicated Artificial Inseminator/Animal Health Assistant to provide professional breeding and health services to our dairy farmers.
Key Responsibilities
Providing artificial insemination and animal breeding advice to farmers.
Carrying out simple treatments of animals.
Participating in disease search and reporting.
Demonstrating milking techniques and external parasite control techniques such as dipping, spraying, and dusting.
Carrying out vaccinations.
Undertaking livestock procedures including closed castration, dehorning, de-worming, disbudding, and hoof trimming.
Advising dairy farmers on modern breeding practices and breeding technologies.
Performing breeding soundness examinations on cows and selection for breeding.
Recording breeding services carried out in farms.
Carrying out training for farmers and other relevant stakeholders.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
At least a Certificate or Diploma in Animal Health or Animal Health and Production from a recognized institution.
Must be registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB).
Possession of a Certificate in Artificial Insemination from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in practicing as a Veterinarian or Artificial Inseminator.
Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
Valid Driving License (Motorbike riding option) and a willingness to ride for long hours.
