Airfreight Intern

Key Responsibilities

• Booking and Scheduling: Handle Spot Booking, prepare tentative bookings, and create consoles. You will also learn to read and interpret booking sheets, flight schedules, and destinations.
• Documentation: Manage shipping documentation according to shipment destinations and requirements. This includes generating, managing, attaching, and detaching S-Numbers in the system.
• Customer Management: Register new customers, maintain customer portfolios, and understand specific consignee requirements.
• Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning operations (splitting direct and indirect shipments). Communicate flight delays, cancellations, and status updates to clients.
• Tools and Systems: Use booking and forecast tools, and manage Estimated Times of Departure (ETDs) and Actual Times of Departure (ATDs) within CargoWise.
• Knowledge Development: Gain knowledge on airline operations, including destinations, schedules, pivot weights, ULD types, industry abbreviations, and airline-specific terminology.
• Reporting: Update performance analysis reports and handle HAWB stock requests.

Requirements

• Diploma in any relevant Commercial Course or Aviation Course (preferably IATA Forwarding).
• Ability to diagnose and solve problems.
• A team player with the ability to work well in a small, dynamic airfreight team.
• Self-motivated, confident, creative, and disciplined with high attention to detail.
• Ability to cope with stressful situations.
• Solid communication skills.
