Job Description
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is seeking to recruit an Adhoc Member of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (Non-advocate). This is a critical position tasked with hearing and resolving disputes arising from political parties in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
Hear, mediate, and arbitrate disputes arising within political parties in Kenya.
Employ alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms to facilitate consensus and resolve conflicts.
Analyze administrative, governance, and socio-economic matters to render fair, impartial, and objective rulings.
Actively uphold the principles of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity in all decisions.
Requirements for Appointment
Pursuant to Section 39A (1)(b) of the Political Parties Act, No.11 of 2011, a person to be appointed as an Adhoc Member of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (Non-Advocate) must possess the following qualifications:
Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: governance, administration, social, political, or economic sciences from a recognized university or equivalent qualifications.
Experience: Demonstrate proven experience and a strong track record in governance, administration, and social, political, or economic affairs.
Restrictions: Must not be a public officer or hold office in a political party.
Added Advantage: Qualification and experience in alternative dispute resolution will be an added advantage.
Integrity: Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
