This role is for an Accounts Assistant at Lainisha Sacco, located in Mwea, Kirinyaga County. Swinton Consulting Limited is facilitating the recruitment process. The Accounts Assistant is responsible for executing essential daily accounting and financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and accountability in all Sacco financial operations, and supporting commercial activities like product promotion.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely record keeping.
- Check and reconcile postings in the general ledgers.
- Accurate maintenance of Members’ Personal Accounts.
- Raise payment vouchers and invoices.
- Full accountability on petty cash management.
- Serve as Treasury custodian / alternate teller cash confirmation officer.
- Responsible for Sacco premises rent collection and reconciliation.
- Post loan disbursements.
- Effect fully authorized account transfers.
- Practice transparency, accountability and effective use of financial resources and assets.
- Assist in the design and formulation of Sacco products and services.
- Assist in the replenishment of cash from the bank.
- Responsible for stationery stock movement.
- Act as a member of the staff procurement committee.
- Market and cross-sell the Sacco products and services.
- Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications
- CPA Part 2 is mandatory.
- Degree or diploma in a business-related field is an added advantage.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a related environment.
- Computer proficiency in computer applications, especially in accounting packages and systems.
- Knowledge of various Sacco software systems is an added advantage.
