This is a crucial role supporting the finance department, responsible for managing daily accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
Job Responsibilities
The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:
Assisting in maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers.
Processing invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
Preparing financial reports and assisting with audits.
Maintaining and updating accounting databases and spreadsheets.
Liaising with vendors and internal departments regarding payments and queries.
Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Carrying out inventory spot checks and querying discrepancies.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or possession of CPA/ACCA qualifications.
1-3 years of experience in a similar accounts role or in audit.
Experience in audit is an added advantage.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
Proficiency in accounting software is an added advantage.
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in previous roles.
Must be a team player.
