About the Role
Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is seeking 80 Field Officers for the DEP Project. Under the general supervision of the Field Manager and within the limits of Innovations for Poverty Action-Kenya policies and procedures, the Field Officer will be primarily responsible for the collection of high-quality data in the field. This role involves direct interaction with study respondents and project partners, requiring the highest level of integrity and professional conduct.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Tool Testing and Piloting: Assist in bench testing and piloting the survey tool on SurveyCTO to ensure it meets technical and research standards.
Data Collection: Conduct in-person and phone surveys, provide real-time feedback on SurveyCTO programming, and assist with survey translations as needed.
Respondent Management: Ensure proper screening of respondents for identification and administration of informed consent. Maintain professional and respectful interactions with all study participants.
Feedback and Improvement: Participate in project debriefs to provide insights on data collection and survey instruments, helping to inform and monitor improvements in project operations.
Data Integrity: Ensure that data integrity is maintained at all times, working diligently to minimize errors during data collection and transmission.
Reporting and Logging: Complete all scheduled activities daily and in a timely manner. Maintain accurate logs of work accomplished and manage callbacks as assigned by the Senior Field Officer (SFO) and DEP Project management.
Inventory Management: Maintain project inventory, including electronic devices (tablets) and stationery, in a safe and secure manner. Provide regular updates to management on the status of equipment.
General Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Field Manager or project management team.
Qualifications and Experience
A Diploma in social sciences, public policy, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in field research.
Previous experience using SurveyCTO for both in-person and phone-based data collection.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in tracking survey respondents.
